Description

Caterham Duratec SV
This car was originally a K series powered car but was then converted to 2.0 litre Duratec power by the original owner who mostly used it as a road car.
The car was then comprehensively refreshed approximately 4 years ago by its next owner who I know.
Since then the car has had limited use (approximately 6000 miles and only ~3000 miles in the current engine) with a mixture of road miles for fun & track days for even more fun !
It was built / converted & subsequently refreshed with a lot of well thought out care and attention using well known parts.
A brief outline is below :
• 2.0 litre Duratec engine which was a brand new crate engine at the time of conversion. It was sent to Premier Power for the build using all new parts. From speaking to the last two previous owners, this engine has done 2 track days and the rest being road use (approx 3000 miles in total on the engine since new).
• Raceline 45mm Throttle bodies
• Head ported to match the throttle bodies
• Crank-shaft is lightened and balanced with flywheel
• Crankshaft has been keyed for reliability
• Vernier adjustable timing pulleys
• AP clutch
• ARP bolts
• Premier Power main bearings specifically sized to their own tolerances
• Piper camshafts
• Raceline dry sump system
• Brise kidney type oil tank
• SpeedFlow anodised JIC connectors and stainless steel braided hoses
• Black silicone coolant hoses
• Emerald K3 ECU
• Laminova Oil Cooler
• Mapped by Troy at Northamption Motorsport with results of 232 bhp & 176 lb.ft torque
• Large re-packable titanium exhaust silencer (Raceco) to keep noise under control
• 6 speed manual Caterham gearbox, rebuilt at time of conversion by Phil of Road and Race transmissions
• 3.9 Titan Limited Slip Differential – new at time of conversion
• Bilstein Race Dampers with race springs and also helper springs on the rear.
• AP 4 pot front brakes
• AP race master brake cylinder
• AP660 brake fluid
• Stainless steel braided hoses.
• Standard rear brakes to retain handbrake for MOT
• CSR diff mounts
• Lowered drivers floor
• 6” wide front wheels and 8” wide rear wheels (Caterham anthracite)
• Toyo R888R tyres
• Front and rear anti roll bars
• Watts linkage
• Custom Titan Motorsports quick steering rack (this is similar to the quick rack for the S3 chassis but was custom built as a quick rack was not available from Caterham for the SV chassis)
• Carbon fibre front wings on lowered wing stays
• Carbon fibre rear wings
• Carbon fibre fog and reverse light housings with clear light upgrades
• Carbon fibre head lights
• Carbon fibre indicator pods
• Carbon fibre aero screen
• Carbon fibre sill tops
• Carbon fibre boot floor
• Car was fully resprayed in 2014 so paintwork is good.
• Superlight full cage
• Fire Extinguisher, mounted in the boot with activation cable pull under dash for security
• 4 point race harnesses on both driver and passenger sides
• Caterham gauges, plus the addition of a digital Stack combined gauge for oil pressure and temperature with dual alarm function
• Momo 280 mm steering wheel with quick release boss
• Shift Light
I bought the car last year with the intention of using it for track days with my family. However the build of two other Caterhams resulted in me never getting around to this and now I not only need the space but also the funds for my racing budget for this year !!
It is a shame that I can’t afford to keep it as it is a very nice spec of Caterham mechanically and is in a great colour plus being the SV version offers much more room for comfortable B- road fun on a sunny day but also allows for easy accommodation of a passenger or instructor on track days etc.
There is a HUGE A4 folder full of receipts showing the amount of work done, service history, parts used and serious amount of money spent on the car to date.
I also have the comms lead for the Emerald ECU plus discs.
The car is currently SORN and the MOT ran out last year, however I will get a fresh 12 months MOT put on the car for the new owner.
Please feel free to call me to ask any questions that you may have or to arrange to come and view.
Thank you.
