2006 BMW 7 SERIES (E65) 730D SPORT - 'Individual'
For sale:
2006 E65 730D Sport - SWB 'Individual' finished in Le Mans Blue with Pearl Beige leather interior
Why am I selling:
It's a diesel and I do around 5k miles a year, if that, so TBH, it's not getting the running it deserves and I'd like to move back to a petrol BMW and something more 'old skool' if possible.
Spec:
The 730D comes with a full staggered set of 20 inch Style 149s with as new Nexen N’Fera SU1 tyres (alloys immaculate bar a small stone chip to the centre of one front alloy wheels) and it’ll come with the 18 inch Style 93 winter alloys & Yokohama Advan V905 winter tyres. The Advan tyres have covered around 1k miles, so lots & lots of tread left; same with the Nexen’s.
Both were bought brand new via Camskill in August and October 2018 respectively. The tyres are in excellent condition with no damage/puncture repairs etc. The tyres are also in the correct OEM BMW sizes.
I've also done an Mtec 82mm stud conversion; instead of running the OEM wheel bolts. It's a much better design and makes life easier when taking alloys off/putting them back on after cleaning (something I do monthly with my cars). I'm also running 12mm hubcentric spacers all round to get the alloys that bit further out, rather than being sunken in. However, there is no rubbing at all, it's not an aggressive/stupid stance. I have the OEM wheel bolts still, they'll be included with the car.
It also has a spare front-sized Style 149 alloys & tyre (both in rough condition).
Both sets of alloys will be included if the full asking price is met, however, I am happy to reduce the price if the winter wheels aren't required. Please see price info further down.
It has: Pearl beige leather interior, front & rear TVs, single CD and x6 CD changer, x5 DVD changer, nav (working), full memory (drivers side) electric and heated front seats, heated steering wheel, centre coolbox/cubby, dynamic drive (active ARBs), comfort access with soft close doors and boot (auto boot open & close from key fod also) etc.
I’m happy to send the last 7 digits of the VIN for those that want to fully decode the cars spec. Please message me for this information.
Mileage:
It’s just covered 100600 miles and will go up slightly as it does get used daily, but it won’t go up a lot.
Since I’ve owned it from July 2018, I've done the following work:
I’ve done: Full front suspension arms (a mix of Meyle and Moog) replacement along with new inner tie rods, track road ends and drop-links all round. New Mtec C Hook with EBC Yellowstuff pads upfront, rears have Mintex discs and pads, full HEL braided lines all round and a full brake fluid flush and refill, the car stops superbly.
It’s just had the EGR and main stat (genuine BMW items with receipt to show) done with a full coolant flush and refill; x2 oil changes (5W30 with Mann filters). When I bought it, it had the swirl flaps blanked off and all necessary filters changed (air filter is a K&N filter). I uprated the halo lights to LEDs and the xenon’s to brand new Lunex D1S 6000k bulbs; new front fog lights were fitted along with Osram Nightbreaker HB4 bulbs. All lights work faultlessly, front and rear.
It also had a brand-new genuine BMW AGM battery fitted, registered and coded to the car in Nov 2018 by BMW Bowker, Preston.
The car handles and drives superbly and needs for nothing bar a new owner and maybe a touch of bodywork TLC.
There was an issue with the electrics recently, it’s been found out that the drivers door & drivers side passenger comfort access handle had a damaged plug, I’ve unplugged them and taped them off to ensure no water ingress and there haven’t been any further issues. The doors soft-close system works faultlessly; the unplugged component just means you cannot use comfort access on the drivers door (you can lock/unlock with the keys in your pocket etc); this can be repaired, but you'd need a new handle and plug, this is something I'm not prepared to do as it doesn't bother me and it'd be another c£300 to sort, in all honesty, I never use the comfort access facility anyway.
When I first bought the car it has the SRS/Airbag warning light on; I knew this before I bought it and tried to rectify it using a bypass resistor on the passenger seat, as this is what the error code on Carly for BMW showed. Unfortunately, this turned out to not be the issue and it was the SRS module, connected to the main positive power cable on the battery; that was also replaced with a brand-new genuine BMW item at a considerable cost to me in August/September 2018, with receipt to show.
There are no further issues with the car, it runs faultlessly.
I’ve got lots of paperwork with the car, from previous owners and myself (receipts for all the parts I’ve replaced etc); the car also had the necessary gearbox sump and oil replacement back in 2017, so it’ll never need doing again in its lifetime really (receipt to show).
It passed its MOT in Dec 2018 with zero issues (it was in and out within an hour at my local garage) and the MOT expires Dec 2019. Feel free to look up the MOT history via the VOSA website; it's easy to do.
It’s also got x3 keys plus the valet key. All of them work.
Bodywork:
The car looks very clean and very well looked after, It’s spotless inside with only a few minor marks to the leather. It’s got brand new floor mats fitted throughout and a non-slip boot liner also.
The paintwork is showing its age, it is nearly 14 years old. The front end (bonnet mainly) is stone-chipped unfortunately and the front wings have the usual marks to them (not dings, just swirls in the paintwork); the wing mirror caps are suffering from lacquer peel and there’s a patch on the drivers side roof rail plate that’s suffering from lacquer peel also. Unfortunately, last week, whilst up in Scotland, I caught the passenger side sill cover on a rock that flipped up as I drove over it slowly, on a dirt track; it's caused an 8" scuff that's right at the bottom, it's a scuff to the paintwork, it's not cracked the sill cover at all.
It’s a 2006 car, it’s not concourse and never will be, but it’s a great looking car, it’s just showing its age. All these issues can be rectified easy enough via a good body shop and it’s something I’d probably do if I were to keep it.

Price: £5550 OVNO (this is with BOTH sets of wheels) – Please understand this is VERY NEAR OFFER; not £hundreds and £hundreds off. If you can’t afford close to my asking price, please don’t bother contacting me.
Price without the winter alloys & tyres: £5300 OVNO (same rules as above)
- I’m not desperate to sell it and it’ll happily sit on my drive until it does sell or I decide to keep running it.
- I am NOT interested in swapping cars with anyone; please do not ask.
**This is for sale, not for my time to be wasted. I'm more than happy to take anyone out in the car for a test drive if they don't have fully comprehensive insurance, which covers them to this level to drive other cars also. If your insurance only covers you on Third Party; you will not be able to drive the car unless you hand me the agreed price in cash beforehand, please understand this!**
