Mercedes E CLASS (211) E63 AMG 2007 - Designo - 7 Seat
# UPDATED 25-10-18 #
#NEW DETAILS:
#Just uploaded new batch of photos taken today. Please contact me and I can send you a link to additional pics on dropbox.
#Car HPI clear. It was checked before purchase and I bought it cash.
#In addition to spec it has the 6 CD changer up front & corner illuminating fog lights.
#It is fitted with a Tracker
#The Airmatic Compressor for the air suspension has just been overhauled. It has had a new cylinder/head, piston ring, intake pipe and intake air filter. Typically as soon as i put it up for sale i started getting a suspension warning message. On investigation it turned out the intake pipe had split (common fault) and that had the knock on effect of damaging the cylinder bore. No more warning messages, compressor now quiet as a mouse and car raises much faster. Didn't replace entire compressor as it looked pretty new.
#Mileage now 96134
Priced to sell. May consider very close offers. In frequent use, so mileage will increase. FSH.
Sadly up for sale is my dream car. I've owned the car just over a year now and it's literally the perfect family car. It’s huge inside, fast and extremely comfortable.
Unfortunately I need to grow up and buy a house. I was originally planning to keep it at least 5 years, but have an opportunity I can’t pass on. So I will be relegated to a rubbish car for a while. I’m going to regret selling it as all my cars seem to significantly increase in value after I’ve sold them!
The car is finished in Obsidian Black Paintwork with Designo Black/Cream Leather Interior.
Its spec is as below:
6208cc M156 V8 Engine
7 speed auto gearbox with paddle shift
7 seat option
Airmatic suspension with 3 way adjustable damping/ride height
4 zone climate control
Xenon auto lights
Heated electric memory seats
Electric folding mirrors
Parktronic, cruise control, auto wipers etc
Cupholder!!
Parrot Handsfree
18" black powder coated AMG VI rims

In July it just had a B service and MOT (with no advisories)
It had a full set of disks and pads at 84000 miles!
It is fitted with Premium Dunlop tyres (97Y) rated for 186mph+
2 Previous owners (first Accountant then Enthusiast, for 5 years each)
It comes with 2 keys, first aid kit, warning triangle, owner’s manual etc, tools and emergency tyre inflation pump. There is space in the boot floor for a full size spare if you so wish.
It has no Command/Nav, but having used similar age BMW Nav’s it really isn’t a concern to me. I use Waze/Google maps on the phone as it’s always up to date and warns of traffic and speed traps etc.
It also has no keyless go but after the recent security concerns around that, I see it as a benefit actually.
As I said in the service history it had a full set of disks and pads (just before I bought the car). They have plenty of life left, which is great as they’re quite expensive!
It has only ever been run on shell V-power which it does like to sip!
As it has been used as a family car, the paintwork is not immaculate. There is the odd mark here and there; however it wouldn’t cost much to touch up. The car is my pride and joy and has been polished and kept as immaculate as possible! There's no dents, just the odd mark, mostly around the boot opening area.
I’m afraid I will be conducting test drives as ultimately it’s a 500bhp car. Insurance is too sketchy and never properly covers the things it’s supposed to. But I will do my best to ensure that you get to see whatever you require.
Payment preferred direct bank transfer. Car cannot leave until funds cleared so perhaps let your bank know in advance. Similarly cash would need to be deposited to ensure it’s genuine.
Here’s a couple of reviews to look at if you so wish, followed by some observations I have made. If you’re not bored yet read on...
PS I can't include web links so just google the article/episode.

There is also an American car journalist called Doug Demuro who loves these. He has owned this model and currently owns the slightly newer one. You can see his review on it here:

Here's my blurb:
When I first saw this car advertised the interior colours put me off if I’m honest. But then when I went to view the car, the interior was actually much nicer than I thought, better than the black actually. It really is nice in person.
The Air suspension on comfort really is so smooth, especially compared to a 5 series BMW M-Sport. If you want to stiffen it up, you can at the touch of a button, which also lowers the car up to 15mm. The suspension can also be raised around 2 inches, which I found very useful for camping & buying pumpkins!
The engine really is the masterpiece here! It’s really the last of a dying breed of big capacity normally aspirated, and it doesn’t disappoint. It gives a drive similar to a large diesel around town (without the tractor noise), barely moves off tick over and generally wafts around in comfort. The gearbox is smooth and responsive. If you put it in sport its character changes somewhat and will let the engine really do some work before upshifting. Unlike a lot of modern 'sports' cars that seem great lower in the revs, but then seem to run out of steam, this one doesn’t! It just keeps getting better and quicker until redline. Not only is the performance great but so is the soundtrack, even inside the car. Despite being an E-class, the exhaust really is great. I think the perfect balance, as it doesn’t really sing until you start climbing the revs. It’s certainly not noticeable when cruising on the motorway for example.
The steering has plenty of feel and is hydraulic (as are the brakes) which I believe are all a marked improvement over the E55 AMG. I often drive hire cars and modern steering can be so light and awful in comparison.
One of the other (admittedly small) things I really like about the car is it has an oil temp gauge. And it flashes until 80deg+ which then indicates it’s sufficiently warm. Certainly in my usage it has never been revved until the oil is nice and warm.
And finally, the boot is enormous and took 4 large suitcases and a large double buggy to the airport with ease. There are 2 seats that fold out of the boot floor suitable for children, which they seem to enjoy, as they get to look out of the back window.
Any further questions please do ask.
Thanks for looking/listening,
Rob
